Terry Lantrip is a third-generation real estate investor in the Dallas area and has specialized in the Lake Dallas Downtown District with his company Urban-Retro. While spending several decades in the newspaper publishing business in Lake Dallas, he started buying, renovating and building properties.
Since 1986, Lantrip purchased and renovated several early 1900s structures including homes and a two-story general store, has built a vintage-looking mixed-use development and has just completed Phase 1 of a four-part development called Lake Dallas Bungalows, a cottage court-style project.
In October 2019 his latest project, the Lake Dallas Tiny Home Village, opened with 13 lots located in the Lake Dallas Downtown District. The village has received national media attention and is considered the first tiny home village of its kind. Currently, Lantrip owns almost four acres and has 34 rental units in the Lake Dallas Downtown District.
In 2020, Lantrip is focusing on helping entrepreneurs, investors and cities with the design, implementation and construction of tiny home villages as well as micro living units, cottage courts, bungalows and small mixed use developments.
BA (Beth Ann) Norrgard is a doer. She worked in the legal field for more than 25 years and had always done what was expected of her. But in 2012, bucking societal exceptions and following her inner guidance, she she her paralegal costume and hand built her tiny house. She intentionally deconstructed her traditional life, cutting all ties that were holding her back. She is a passionate advocate for others following their dreams and letting go of societal conditioning and being free to live a larger life in a small space.
The founder of DFW Tiny House Enthusiasts has traveled more than 14,000 miles with her house, speaking, exhibiting and organizing events. She shares her 78 square foot home with her husband.
She brings to the table a wide breadth of practical hands-on knowledge of living small, creating community and the grass roots soul of the tiny house movement.
Starting with the purchase of a small empty lot in a blighted area of a long-forgotten Texas town in 1986 we've grown to a multi-faceted company with a really cool pocket of development in what is now known as the Lake Dallas Downtown District. We've renovated turn-of-the-century structures, renovated and rebuilt homes, designed and built new old-style mixed use buildings, designed and built a bungalow court and most recently we've completed a beautiful tiny home village.
Our team of entrepreneurs, real estate professionals, designers, architects, engineers, tradesmen and tiny house experts have created extraordinary places. We will work with you to develop the distinctive development you envision. Make sure to check out our completed projects.
We're proud members of the American Tiny House Association and the Tiny Home Industry Association.
Being a contributing part of our community is an important aspect of the Tiny House Village Company and Urban-Retro. Several times a year we will be giving a history tour of the Lake Dallas Downtown District with all proceeds going to The Spirit of Christmas, a local organization that helps our community's less fortunate at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
